Technical Writing

As Principal Technical Writer at Datamine, I document:

I also mentor a team of technical writers and am an active contributor to Datamine’s Generative AI community of practice. A case study of my experience collaborating with ChatGPT-4 to write Microsoft Word macros was published in March 2024 in Intercom.

During 2022, I developed our public documentation site: docs.dataminesoftware.com. For this project I was nominated in 2023 for a Women in Digital Australian UX Leader of the Year award.

During 2020/2021, I converted documentation from Author-it to MadCap Flare.
For the MineMarket help, this has resulted in:

  • An entire restructure and rewrite of the content
  • 20% fewer activities by removing redundant or repetitive content
  • Content that can be reused for training manuals
  • Improved search, index and bookmarking functionality

Another project in 2021 was to lead the design, development and testing of the ribbon menu and icon set for MineMarket 5.5. As a tiny sample, here are the despatch icons. You can read about some of the design ideas. For this project I was nominated in 2022 – and this time shortlisted! – for a Women in Digital Australian UX Leader of the Year award.

Far less seriously, why is the favicon of this website a photo of a duck? I love nature, enjoy photography, and I write ‘duck-umentation’! 😉
